Open access publishing ensures immediate, worldwide, and free availability of all published manuscripts. This model allows readers to view, download, print, and redistribute articles without any financial barriers, thereby maximizing the dissemination and impact of scholarly work.
In the open access framework, article processing costs are covered by the authors’ research funds or their supporting institutions, replacing traditional subscription fees. These Article Processing Charges (APCs) support manuscript processing, online hosting, and long-term archiving. Importantly, there are no submission fees for manuscripts submitted to the journal.
For the International Journal of Innovative Research and Scientific Studies (IJIRSS), the APC is set at $1,500, exclusive of VAT.
IJIRSS Discounts and Waivers Policy
At the International Journal of Interdisciplinary Research and Social Science (IJIRSS), we are dedicated to promoting equitable access to scholarly publishing and supporting the global shift toward fully open access research. To uphold this commitment, we offer APC discounts and waivers to authors experiencing financial constraints.
1. Discounts for Authors from Least Developed Countries (LDCs)
Authors affiliated exclusively with institutions in Least Developed Countries (LDCs) qualify for a 40% discount on the APC. This applies only if all contributing authors are based in LDCs.
Eligible countries include: Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Kiribati, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Timor-Leste, Togo, Tuvalu, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Yemen, Zambia.
2. Discounts for Students
Recognizing the financial challenges faced by early-career researchers, students from any country demonstrating limited financial resources may request a 40% APC discount.
To qualify, applicants must:
-
Be the corresponding author.
-
Provide valid proof of student status (e.g., university ID or enrollment certificate).
-
Submit a brief statement outlining financial need.
-
Ensure the majority of authors on the manuscript are students.
3. Application Process
Discounts must be requested during manuscript submission. Authors should declare their eligibility and submit supporting documentation through the submission system or by contacting the editorial office directly.
Additionally, a 25% APC discount may be granted to editorial board members and reviewers on a needs basis.
4. Additional Considerations
IJIRSS may, at its discretion, grant further waivers or reductions in exceptional cases. Each application is evaluated individually, and all decisions are final.
